A few issues ago in LRB (Summer '03 to be exact), we featured a scruffy guy named "Fat Mark" (his legal last name is Mark Kaake, Jr.) and his surf buddy/business partner Josh Knight. These two life's-a-beach kinda guys set out to build fiberglass fenders for 26-inch beach cruisin' bikes, which caught our attention. This time, they took the sand out of their ears and busted out with super simple fiberglass fenders for 20-inch lowrider bike.
Fat Mark smiles and says, "America's gotta have these fenders." Well, we agree because the more lowrider bikes there are, the more we can shoot and that keeps us all employed, right ?
